Alberta's weather means dry cracked skin, especially for our hardworking hands. The Forager Tallow Salve works wonders for areas of dry, itchy skin. The Woods Tallow Salve is great for skin irritations, bug bites, extra dry patches, burns and more.

The Forager is a combo of Plantain, Chickweed, Spruce Tips and Yarrow, slow-infused in our tallow. Combined with Jojoba Oil and the magic ingredient: sweet-smelling Beeswax.

The Woods is Made with Wildcrafted Spruce Resin from our Central Alberta forests and White Pine Needles from Eastern Canada. We let these gifts from the trees slowly infuse into our Grass-Fed, Pasture-Raised Tallow to extract all the skin-loving goodness. Jojoba oil and beeswax make this an ultra-nourishing salve that smells of the deep woods.

White Pine is high in Vitamin C and contains inflammatory and antifungal properties.

• Jojoba Oil - this "oil" is technically a liquid plant wax and is often used to soothe dry, chapped skin.

• Grass-fed Beef Tallow is a great moisturizer as it closely resembles the skin's cell structure, helping to retain the skin's natural moisture barriers.

• Beeswax - sweet smelling, cappings wax is added, from our friends at Gull Lake Honey. Beeswax helps protect skin, and seals in moisture.

• Chickweed - this “weed” is actually an edible medicinal herb with rich mineral content. For skincare, it is often used to soothe sore skin.

• Plantain -Plantain has been used for centuries as a wound-healer by chewing up the leaves and making a poultice to put on bites or stings. Its uses are diverse and we love it for its varied applications.

• Spruce Tips -These are the bright green, citrusy-sweet smelling new growth on spruce trees in the spring. Spruce tips can be eaten fresh, made into tea and are rich in Vitamin C. Spruce tips have been shown to be helpful for skin regeneration.

• Yarrow - Sprinkled across the pastures of Alberta, yarrow has so many benefits. Yarrow is helpful for restoring moisture to the skin.

What is spruce resin? Spruce resin (or spruce sap) is the golden or amber coloured runny sap the tree produces to heal over “wounds.” The sticky resin acts as a "bandaid" by sealing over wounds to the tree, (like a broken branch), and does the same for skin.

Spruce resin has been used for ages for skin irritations like bug bites, cuts, burns, and extra dry patches. Spruce resin's anti-inflammatory properties help calm redness and inflammation and soothe the skin.

The Forager: Apply to areas of dry skin, scrapes, rashes, burns, bites or anywhere that needs some extra attention. Makes a great cuticle salve, diaper cream, lip balm, bug-bite salve, and so much more. The Forager is a must-have, multi-purpose salve for your home or on-the-go.

The Woods: Apply this deeply nourishing salve to minor wounds such as scrapes, bites, and burns to help calm inflamed skin. Use as a spot treatment for acne, bug bites, cuticles, or cracked skin. The 1oz jar is the perfect size for travel.
The Green Gardener: Apply this botanical infused tallow salve to cuts, scrapes, bruises and dry skin to provide relief.
