We’ve selected elements that we have the ability to source local to Alberta. The Forager is special because the yarrow and spruce tips are foraged on the lands we call home in Central Alberta.
• Jojoba Oil - this "oil" is technically a liquid plant wax and is often used to soothe dry, chapped skin.
• Grass-fed beef tallow is a great moisturizer as it closely resembles the skin's cell structure, helping to retain the skin's natural moisture barriers.
• Beeswax
We are obsessed with the sweet smelling, cappings wax from our friends at Gull Lake Honey. Beeswax helps protect skin, and seals in moisture.
• Chickweed - this “weed” is actually an edible medicinal herb with rich mineral content. For skincare, it is often used to soothe itchy, sore skin.
• Plantain - Plantain has been used for centuries as a wound-healer by chewing up the leaves and making a poultice to put on bites or stings. Its uses are diverse and we love it for its anti-inflammatory properties.
• Spruce Tips - These are the bright green, citrusy-sweet smelling new growth on spruce trees in the spring. Spruce tips can be eaten fresh, made into tea and are rich in Vitamin C. Spruce tips have been shown to be helpful for skin regeneration.
• Yarrow - Sprinkled across the pastures of Alberta, yarrow has so many benefits. Yarrow is helpful for inflammation, and restoring moisture to the skin.
